Lots of people get online degrees, but what is it REALLY like to pursue an online degree in the US?For starters, there are many things about getting an online degree that beat getting a traditional degree. First of all, you don’t have a lot of the distractions that face on-campus students; if you are a working adult college is just another thing to work into your schedule. If you are a student on campus you are much more likely to join the party scene or simply waste a lot of time. That’s not to say that when you’re studying online you don’t have any of those distractions; they will just be much less present than they would be on campus.
Interacting with the school is generally easy; you typically treated just like an on campus student would be. You have access to all of the IT services, you can set up meetings with the professor if you need them, and oftentimes the same degree that a traditional student would get.
You will also have the same access to a professor that an on-campus student would, depending on the school that you have chosen. All students contact their professor through email and (sometimes) cell phone. You won’t be cut off just because you’re not on campus!
We’ve talked about this before, but just to reiterate, your degree from a solid online university will get you the same jobs that a traditional paper degree would get you. Don’t assume that you won’t get a job after you graduate; you’ll still make money.
We’ve saved the best for last; you can do all of your schoolwork from your couch or in your bed, and you don’t even need to put on clothes to study. You can learn from any place you want, from any device you want! Try finding a traditional school that offers that kind of freedom I bet you won’t!
