Our electrical cabinet panel coolers are a simple, reliable and inexpensive method to cool and climatize all types of electrical panels and enclosures. The Supreme Air Electrical Panel Cooler is an efficient pneumatic product designed to separate regular compressed air into hot and cold air streams. Our coolers only require compressed air to operate, which eliminates the need for dangerous refrigerants or freon gases. They offer the ideal solution to cooling many types of enclosures and electrical cabinets with large cooling capacities up to 7200 BTUs.

How does a Cabinet Cooler work?

Through a standard knockout hole, the cooler is mounted vertically to the top of a cabinet. A locking ring provided with the cooler locks it into place.

A compressed air line hooks up to the cooler by threading a 1/4 NPT fitting to the air inlet.

The integrated vortex tube separates compressed air as it enters the cooler.

The vortex tube’s hot steam is emitted into the atmosphere through a muffler, which produces low levels of noise.

The cold air enters the electrical cabinet though an outlet tube located at the bottom of the cooler.

The cold stream entering the electrical cabinet causes the hot air inside to rise, which is then purged through the cooler.

An optional cold air distribution kit is also available. This connects to the cooler’s outlet tube and allows users to direct the cold stream to hot spots in the cabinet. All Supreme Air Products electrical panel coolers are made from stainless steel, which ensures durability.

    Cabinet Cooler Specifications

    Mounting:

Supreme Air Products(tm) Cabinet Cooler must be vertically mounted on a flat surface for all enclosure types. An electrical cabinet cooler unit is easy to install through a 1-1/8” diameter drilled hole or an electrical knockout and is held in place by a locking ring. We offer additional side mount kits for instances where coolers cannot be mounted on the top of the cabinet due to height restrictions.

    Humidity:

It is important to close off any openings and vents that may bring in ambient air, especially in warm, hot, or highly humid environments. Cabinet Coolers that are continuously in operation maintain a relative humidity of 45%.

    Filtration:

Clean filtered air should be used on all lines that power the Cabinet Cooler. A 5 micron auto drain filter is recommended. To prevent accidental water from entering the enclosure, it is important to filter properly. If oil is present in the compressed air supply, use an oil filter with a minimum 0.3 micron rating.

    Environment Considerations

NEMA 4/4X IP56 – Designed to be used in Electrical Control Panels. It is splash-resistant, oil-tight and dust-proof, making it suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use. Coolers are constructed of Stainless Steel (Type 304) for longevity in wet environments.

NEMA 12 (IP52 – Cabinet Coolers are oil-tight and dust-proof. They can be used in environments that allow liquids to not come into direct contact with the unit. To withstand extreme corrosive environments, coolers are made of Type 304 Stainless Steel.
